ENKA’s new school uniforms address a number of desires expressed to the school by students, parents, and teachers. One of the most prevalent comments was a request for better fitting uniforms. During our production process, our producers came to school on a number of occasions with a master pattern maker who, based on the measurements of students from each grade, extrapolated the students’ average sizes and developed garments with arm lengths, torso widths, skirt lengths etc. specifically tailored to the body shapes of our student population. Another desire was to see more natural fibers in the fabrics chosen for our uniforms. We are happy to report that most of the garments are 75-100% organic cotton, certified by the Global Organic Textile Standards organization. Additional requests repeated by our community included the option for more tailored clothing, not just for daily school life, but also when representing our school at local, national, and international events. The range of garments now provides students with options from casual to more fitted.
